Musings: Instagram

Today’s topic is: “5 ways to make the most out of Instagram”

This will be (by far) my shortest post because everything I know about Instagram could fit on a fortune cookie.

Here’s what I’ve figured out so far…

~ To use Instagram, you have to create an account with a unique username. (I did that part! You can find me at @phoebedecook.)

~ It’s a photo sharing app, full of absolutely spectacular pictures of everything you can imagine. (I want to be sure I don’t overshare, so I’ve only uploaded a handful of pictures so far.)

~ When you take photos on your smartphone, you can apply filters, add captions, and then post them on your profile. (I haven’t figured out if there is a way to upload pictures from my computer yet, but doing it from the phone app is super simple!)

~ You can sign up to “follow” other people. When they post a photo, you can see it, like it, and comment on it. (At this time, I only follow @thepioneerwoman because she was the original inspiration for taking this new path in my life, and because she always takes the prettiest pictures of food.)

Well, that’s it. There is so much more I look forward to learning. I’m sure that once I have the time to figure it out, I’ll be Instagramming all over the place. Sign up to follow me and you’ll be sure to catch all the excitement as it develops (sorry, I couldn’t resist a photo-centric pun.)

Do you use Instagram regularly? If so, please share your tips and tricks in the comments.
