Musings: Celebrity for a Day

Today’s topic is: “Would you trade places with a celebrity for a day? If so, who would you choose?”

I think the fame that comes with being a celebrity would be fun, for about day. Sure, it would be nice to have seemingly unlimited financial resources, a private plane on which to travel, fancy houses or hotels that you don’t have to clean yourself, gourmet meals you don’t have to cook or clean up after, etc. But I also realize there can be a negative side of fame. Certainly being watched and photographed (and judged) every minute of every day would quickly get annoying. But for a single day, I think I could manage.

The tough question is which celebrity to choose.

I considered a famous author like JK Rowling or James Patterson. I’d hope that living like them for a day would cause some of their literary genius to rub off on me, turning me into a world famous author too!

I considered a down-to-earth Hollywood actress like Reese Witherspoon or Kristin Bell. I also considered Kate the Duchess of Cambridge. But they are all stay-at-home moms like me, so I don’t think swapping would have the vacationing effect I’d be hoping for.

People Ellen DeGeneres

The celebrity I would most like to trade places with for a day is Ellen Degeneres. I love her message of #BeKindToOneAnother. I think it would be tons of fun to tape one of her shows, where I had the opportunity to interview people who are making a positive change in the world, dance, and give away money or cars or trips to folks who could really use them. Making so many people happy all at the same time would feel awesome!

Who would you pick? Share your celebrity swap in the comments.

Ellen is a great choice! She’s so amazing about helping others. I think I’m gonna go in a whole other direction. I’d choose Matt Damon. 1-I could find out what it’s like to be a guy 2-he’s really smart and 3-I could help out with his charity work!
