Consistency… Interrupted

Posting Activity, phoebedecook.com

I love this feature on WordPress… it is a simple graphic that shows how often a post has been published. And I’m proud of myself that I have been able to post every day for the last 202 days! (I launched PhoebeDeCook.com on February 17th, posted twice on February 29th so that box is a little darker, and here we are in early September already!)

I really enjoy writing. It gives me an hour or two each day to think for myself, think about myself. I get to be myself instead of someone else’s mom (which is what I am the other 22 hours of the day.) Yes, for me, writing is a selfish act. It gives me a sense of accomplishment on days when dishes, laundry, and parenting are the only things I get done.

However, for at least the next couple of months (maybe a bit longer), I’m going to postpone my daily Musings in favor of more immediate responsibilities. I’ll be spending more time working on being a better mom, a better wife, a better homemaker, a better pie baker, a better gardener. I will continue to brainstorm about my future novels, jotting down ideas and one-liners that will eventually be worked in. And once my tiny house/writer’s retreat is finished, I hope to be able to get back to writing (and publishing here).

But for now, writing can wait (and the other priorities in my life can’t).

Thank you for all your comments and encouragement over the last six months. Be sure to check back in 2017 for news about the tiny house and about publishing my first novel.

Until we meet again, #BeKindToOneAnother.

I will miss reading about your life and thoughts. There hasn’t been one post that did not cause me to reflect on my own life. Thank you for reaching out to inspire us all to think and feel. Do I really need to wait until Feb 2017? YIKES!!!

Hey Phoebe,         I tried to reply to your last post but couldn’t get it to work,  so will try this way.  I cannot imagine how you could possibly improve on any of the things you listed.  You are already the best at all of that.  Know I will miss your musings,  but understand  why.  However,  please take a few minutes each day for you or you will wear yourself to a frazzle.  Have a fabulous fall/winter,  and know I am looking forward to seeing you at bookclub.
