Musings: Now I’m a Tree

Today’s topic is: “If you were to describe yourself as a tree, what kind of tree would you be?”

First flowers, then colors, and now trees… I love trees. I’m a self-proclaimed tree hugger, for sure. But what kind of tree?  Hmm. That’s a head scratcher. I can’t say I’ve ever described myself as a particular type of tree before.

After taking a short time to ponder, I’ve concluded that I’m a sugar maple tree, just like the beautiful trees that I grew up with in northern Vermont.

Unlike an evergreen, I change with the seasons. I like having the freedom to change (my mind, my appearance, my life’s direction) periodically.

Like sugar maples, I have a bit of sweetness on the inside, but it takes some work to get it to come out.

Unfortunately, unlike most sugar maples, I don’t think I’m going to live to be 300 years old. I better make the most of my first 90 years instead.

In the comments, tell me what kind of tree you are.
