Today’s topic is: “What is your favorite color? Tell us why you like that color, or show us how it is represented in your home and wardrobe.”
My favorite color has changed throughout my life. When I was young, I loved navy, maroon, deep purple, and red. In my 20s, my favorite became green, Hunter green to be exact, which was fitting because around the same time, I changed my last name to Hunter. Today, I don’t have a true favorite. My wardrobe is based on the colors of Old Navy tee-shirts and tank tops that I was given for Christmas last year, and my home is mostly shades of beige.
But here are some things that I consider my favorite on any given day.
The pinks of clovers along the long drive.
The multiple shades of orange of the enduring day lilies.
The blues of my youngest’s eyes.
The greens of a fertile garden in the middle of summer (even with weeds).
The deep orange of home-grown, free-range chicken egg yolks.
